This is really getting scary. Here's a portion of the article.

"Bad news concerning the Gulf oil disaster continues to come from WMR's federal government sources in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the US Army Corps of Engineers. Emergency planners are dealing with a prospective "dead zone" within a 200 mile radius from the Deepwater Horizon disaster datum in the Gulf.

A looming environmental and population displacement disaster is brewing in the Gulf. The oil dispersant used by BP, Corexit 9500, is seen by FEMA sources as mixing with evaporated water from the Gulf and absorbed by rain clouds producing toxic precipitation that threatens to continue killling marine and land animals, plant life, and humans within a 200-mile radius of the Deepwater Horizon disaster site in the Gulf.
Adding to the worries of FEMA and the Corps of Engineers is the large amounts of methane that are escaping from the cavernous grotto of oil underneath the Macondo drilling area of Gulf of Mexico.

On a recent visit to the Gulf coast, President Obama vowed that the Gulf coast will "return to normal." However, federal officials dealing with the short- and long-term impact of the oil disaster report that the "dead zone" created by a combination of methane gas and Corexit toxic rain will force the evacuation and long-term abandonment of cities and towns within the 200-mile radius of the oil volcano.
Plans are being put in place for the mandatory evacuation of New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Mandeville, Hammond, Houma, Belle Chase, Chalmette, Slidell, Biloxi, Gulfport, Pensacola, Hattiesburg, Mobile, Bay Minette, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City, Crestview, and Pascagoula.
The toxic rain from the Gulf is expected to poison fresh water reservoirs and lakes, streams, and rivers, which will also have a disastrous impact on agriculture and livestock, as well as drinking water, in the affected region."Here's a link to the article.http://oilprice.com/Environment/Oil-Spills/Government-Insiders-Get-Ready-for-the-Gulf-Dead-Zone.html

imagine that... "New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Mandeville, Hammond, Houma, Belle Chase, Chalmette, Slidell, Biloxi, Gulfport, Pensacola, Hattiesburg, Mobile, Bay Minette, Fort Walton Beach, Panama City, Crestview, and Pascagoula."

What they have there is a horrific scene of migration, confusion and chaos.
Fema had a difficult time relocating just New Orleans during Katrina....that many cities moved is a nightmare wrapped in a enigma.

all we need now is a hurricane to spread that poison (corexit) into the atmosphere killing off the bees more than has been. bees account for a 3rd of our food supply, add this to the direct pollution in the gulf & we're in for a huge disaster that's never been seen here in the USA....

I am aware. For the sake of diversity on views; I posted it. There is a statement....I will get it.

"However, federal officials dealing with the short- and long-term impact of the oil disaster report that the "dead zone" created by a combination of methane gas and Corexit toxic rain will force the evacuation and long-term abandonment of cities and towns within the 200-mile radius of the oil volcano."

I would like to know the source of this information in the above posted article.

There has been rampant talk about FEMA from the survivalist camp of the above mentioned evacuations. Some stating as far up as Capecod....

If the quoted statement is true. I want to see the source. As it stands right now I can not find any proof that FEMA is preparing to or even considering evacuation due to the BP Oil situation. I did find some FEMA information that they were preparing for the hurricane season, and possible evacuations in the event of a Hurricane. But nothing pertaining to the gulf oil toxicity in a 200 mile radius of the dead zone.

Have you seen any proof that FEMA said it?

I have difficulty comprehending why oil was being drilled for at such great ocean depths without better controls being available to prevent spills like this. The shale gas deposits which are available onshore are massive. Natural Gas is also a good bridge fuel to a totally renewable energy economy.

The enviroment has suffered too much unnecessary damage .If the Jones Act had been waived by Obama the shipping resources of the entire world could have been used to help solve this disaster. The political delay has already been enviromentally costly imho.BP has also decided to use a solvent toxic to marine life to disperse the oil spill instead of Bacterial remediation . BP has thereby chosen to compond the damage their negligence caused. What do you think woud happen if any US citizen drove down to their local beach to change their vehicles oil?I wish the US government showed as much concern regarding offshore drilling.
