The Pentagon has responded to PEAK OIL fears by establishing a priority to use as little oil as possible.As a result the US ARMY is now purchasing as many electric vehicles as possible with a goal to cut it's oil usage by millions of gallons per year.The US Navy is converting to an all nuclear fleet wherever possible and endeavoring to power it's aircraft by biofuel.The Air Force is currently the largest purchaser of clean energy in the Federal government. Clean energy agenda's are transforming the US military.
I read the military energy report that made a statement to the effect that the military had to create and secure its own access to energy independent of the nation. Boy I wish I could remember that link. I would post up for you to read.
