HomePEAK OIL ISSUES
This is a forum to address current and future issues related to peak oil."I'd put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I hope we don't have to wait until oil and coal run out before we tackle that." — Thomas Edison, 1931 "The term Peak Oil refers the maximum rate of the production of oil in any area under consideration, recognising that it is a finite natural resource, subject to depletion." --Colin Campbell

BOG: In my opinion global warming is a completely secondary issue. I 'm in favor of switching over to a totally renewable energy base for security, enviromental and economic reasons. If this is done then the global warming proponents aims will be attained. These same security, enviromental and economic reasons are enough in my opinion for even the most anti global warming and anti peak oil cornucopians to agree to switching over to a renewable energy base. Even if the cornucopians are correct and oil will flow like water within the OPEC states for eternity there are still enough valid reasons to stop using oil.
